Anthropologie Does Weddings?? YES.

This month Anthropologie [known for it's eclectic, expensive-but-less-than-couture artistry] launched a bridal line, and the wedding world waited in awe. I'll admit that there are some absolutely stunning pieces in it, and the idea alone of an Anthro gown sets me into a tizzy. Sadly, I'm slightly "whelmed." Maybe because it's their first line they didn't want to give it all away at once, but even with my seeming allegiance to the name, I wasn't as blown away as I planned to be. And by "planned to be" I mean that I might as well have marked their opening night on my calendar as dedicated to ohhing and ahhhing for hours, then figuring out a way to touch the things. I even had a dream one night that I found the warehouse for the dresses before their debut, and I actually went swimming in them -- not like I wore one to swim, yet rather swam through them, as if the fabric was water. Dreams....

However, you MUST check our their photography, styling and modeling. The site is gorgeous. Someone is awesome, whoever was in charge there, I mean. Also, there are some spectacular pieces. REALLY. Such as these:

Bridal:

Bridesmaids:

Hair Adornments:

SHEWZ:

And even the most precious cover-ups you'll ever find:

I'd like to remake these styles for my brides. That's more like it.

Because I am intent on finding a way to use red in a wedding that isn't cause for eye-rolling boredom and immediately lowered expectations.

Bouquet Love - Kristin's Wedding

As I was submitting a flower order for an upcoming AWESOME wedding, I began to reminisce about Kristin's wedding flowers from March. Why, you ask? I had a great time putting them together, and although coral peonies were nowhere to be found, Kristin was a super easygoing bride about it -- she went with pink garden roses without a fuss. It was odd. Oddly wonderful.

Her bouquet consisted of the pink garden roses, peach equitarian roses, sage, bay leaf, and aeriostynem. Because of those last three, it had to have been the best smelling bunch of flowers-in-a-hand imaginable. The bridesmaids held white hydrangeas and ivory spray roses with the same greenery. Window arrangements were simple - the white hydrangeas and aeriostynem only. Less is more in that sanctuary, for certain.

Enjoy! (I did...)

And if I may say, without giving too much detail -- a florist can always be bargained with.

Featured!

You may have heard of Jessica, my gal over at Budget Savvy Bride. Really. People know her. She was even chosen as one of Wedding Channel's superty-duper bridal bloggers.

Well, I guess she heard it was Brandon's birthday, and decided to celebrate his wedding. What a sweetheart she is!

Anyways, it's monumental. Click her graphic to see...

Deluxe OK Indie Craft Bazaar

My first art show and sale is coming up! Woot! You can find out more about the this lovely shindig on their website. I'm hoping to meet about a million brides and homeowners, as well as good ole friends with whom I share interests. It's no secret that my move from Nashville to Oklahoma City was filled with much uncertainty about meeting people that revere color the way I do.

(Admit it. When you think of Oklahoma, you think red-earthed-desert, right?)

So what's in store? The debut of my wedding visions portfolio, an actual wedding dress, a million and two handmade crafts for homes-fashion-nuptials, and the like. The list is rather extensive. For example...

More birdseed pouches, several sets with different fabrics:

A buncha types of modern floral arrangements, several with moss and milk glass and some faux flower couture bouquets ...

Handmade wreaths, some from recycled paper, some from woodland creature "action figures"...

Paper-and-fabric corsages and bouts...

Hairpieces (mine is pictured)...

Bracelets from antique buttons...

And LOTS of embroidery.... ; )

Don't Look to Me for Tiaras, Red Roses, or Matching Bridesmaids

Ladies, I'd like to take a small break from posting pictures of our wedding to announce what may be pertinent to yours -- Ashley Whiteside is officially designing weddings. Yes, I know that I have a less-than-conventional approach to these shindigs, so no doubt the appeal will be very specific. However, that makes the bride that does go the artistic route even more exclusive.

So what does this mean? Options from simply creating a vision for you to full-service consulting will be offered. And crazy as it may sound, most of this is available country-wide. I am willing to travel to direct during your day. This is a slightly unheard of practice, I realize, but most communication between brides and planners is via phone and email, so why limit yourself?

At my current count, I have compiled 27 weddings of art (also known as "inspiration boards" but these are much more thorough) that I will begin sharing tomorrow.

Bridezillas need not apply. My interest is in helping establish and develop the incredibly fun journey! If you're going to be a sour puss, I have no time for you. Just saying.

Ok. I lied. One picture from the wedding: We just had way too much fun the entire day. Yeah, we're occasionally inappropriate and way too easy to laugh at, but we certainly enjoy ourselves!

Also, I cut myself shaving. Thought you should know.Photo by April Sirit of Evoke Photography.

Wedding Photos: The Barn and The Mansion

We [obviously] opted for a pre-wedding photo time with April so that we could get more quality shots of us without making everyone wait around for us. This paid off magnificently. Well, "paid" is a relative term, seeing as how our darling photographer was won, and not purchased. ; )

These shots were taken at the park on 12th South in Nashville, Tennessee by April Sirit of Evoke Photography, whom I would completely marry were my wedding not the reason for our meeting.

Wedding Photos: Let's Meet

After I finished readying that morning, I met Brandon in the hotel lobby as April snapped away. Enjoy what she captured!
